Mikey and Butch By Paul Wilson While sleeping today much to his surprise Mikey heard a splash and fell of his log Looking at him a face with two big eyes that belonged to Butch the neighbor’s mean dog He swam and swam as fast as he could go down to the bottom of his new found home That big mean dog almost bit off a toe as he hid underneath a plastic dome Mikey was so scared he shivered in fright that mean old dog was trying to get him Then the dog was gone much too his delight and to his log Mikey began to swim Man… that was a close call...he had to say I really thought I was dog food you know He promised to get even with Butch one day I’ll get him for almost biting my toe About a week later Butch came around he was trying to get Mikey again Mikey was ready… not making a sound he bit Butch’s nose and began to grin Butch took off quicker then you could say go out the yard and around the house he went That I’ll teach him…this turtle’s not that slow with a sore nose away ole Butch was sent The next time Butch came around all was good he looked at Mikey and gave him a smile Mikey waved at him from his piece of wood Munching on a treat… his first inawhile "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |

midnitesun...Thanks for the read. This story came too me about 2 weeks ago and I thought I would see what it turns into. I would really like to write a short book of poems for children that tell a story so maybe this will be it.Thanks so much for taking the time to read and reply...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |
