I rolled the stockings down my legs
and popped the backs of earrings beg--
I took the necklace from my neck
and weary I met eye to eye...

Funny, how I feel so weighed.
Measured and I'm still in want.
cigarettes and stale perfume
I am a little girl in haunt

wanting just to claim me now.

"Mommy?" This is not much fun.
I don't like your powder's weep...
Glitter in the scratch of eye
and my lips look like they bleed...

I hiss an exhale of my smoke.
I dim the lights and squint.
I place the strap back where it was--
ready for the Parliament.

steady sober circles blue
I dust myself away--
take another drop of you?
sad, that you saw me this way

watch me as I laugh away
the minutes of our time...

this...

.
hurts
on places only I know...

but if, if I could give something back?

It would be that I read it
several times...

Serenity...I read it, I felt the emotion deep within your words, but I am still working on the you of it. Touching and so revealing. Thanks for sharing...Paul

I wish I could find the words to describe what this did to me.... The whole thing just aches.... You're wonderful, you know that?
