Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-08-22 04:53 PM

It wears well on you,
your literary voice
in slow boom and
appreciation
of those things worn
in time

my fervor
turns to blushed fever
as I lay a petal of
compliment
here
and there

and you step around them
not in dismissal
but not ready
to don the flowers
of my pleasure
in what you
have given
me

I have seen the others,
waiting for their
expected applause,

as you close the
curtains
once the words were lain
in dimmed light
for whomever may chance
upon them,

and I would pick you
above them,

because all you want to do
is leave the gift
in hand

quietly,
sincerely,

with the only fanfare
in the sliding
of a
veil.

Not only is your poetry beautiful, but your ability to see the beauty in the poetry of others is beautiful as well.

Karilea, I couldn't stop reading this...over and over again and again.  I felt the tears rise to my eyes, then a smile creep slow upon my face with each reading.  My dear, you are amazing.

Love and hugs to you,

Karilea...Your words flow so smooth in this lovely poem. Appreciation is not always in the compliments, many times it is in the sharing and giving of the heart as you have done here. Thanks for giving this to us.Enjoyed very very much...Paul

Loved the image I got when I read this verse Kari.  You, with a basket full of prismed petals, gently placing them here...and there.

Eminor, poetry is very special...and we have a lot of talented poets around here...keep reading, and you will be filled with many favorites...thank you!

Martie, you know that I try to keep up with you!

Benjamin...that is a wonderful comment. Trust me, this poem shall remain on my favorites of mine list...

Robert, a compliment worthy of you.  Thank you.

Enchantress...I try to keep up with you, too...thank you.

Linda, you are consistently blessed with petals of your own, as you give kindly, and frequently.  Thank you.

Vicky...you keep inspiring me.  What more could I say to one who keeps pushing me?

Patricia...it's a hanky alert for me, as well.  I only hope you realize the gifts YOU have...

Chris, you have become a quiet inspiration to me.  Don't ever let Annabelle quit speaking to you.

Marti, if we ever cease to be amazed of one another, I hope it is not soon to come.  Thank you for all you have shared with us.

Paul, a gentleman you are, a gentle man you shall always be.  Thank you.

Elizabeth, when you look in, I am doubly blessed, m'lady.  Thank you.

JilGirl, Poetry is Imagination. And, Imagination should be poetry!  Thank you.

Meghan, we love you, too.  You keep digging deep...the well continues to fill...thank you.

Sunny, your tea is my tea.  But we knew that in the beginning.  Thank you, dear.

Maree, may I keep you?

Nan, you already KNOW I'm keeping you!

My Sue "littlewing"...this was NOT speaking of me, but only of the poets that I have chanced to meet...and how fortunate I am for that...for if only meeting over the internet has broadened my horizons THIS much to tell me to go on with other things, than who, my dear, is the lucky one?...

Duncan, yes, Sir, I am fortunate that I have a place to position petals here, and there...and aren't we all?  Thank you, my kind poet...

Melybee...you have been collecting favorites for quite some time...I've been watching you...

Inkedgoddess...truth outs.  I am extremely fortunate to be among so many who kindly give, expecting nothing in return...thank you for reading, something that every poet appreciates...

Lisann, thank you.

Sue, I do appreciate your eyes.  Bless your heart.

Thank you, everyone.

this reads as if it was written on a lace handkerchief...its as delicate and fragile as a rose and should be pressed between the pages of a treasured poetry book.
You do such a lovely justice to poetry and poets with this special write Kari.

You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name ...
and know my love and my desperation were one and the same.
