Fishing

She reeled me in like speckled trout
A line of love and sweet devout
Played me with a gentle hand
And branded me forever’s brand

Picked me up with gentle net
Made my home within your let
Turned me to a knight of love
And favored me her velvet glove

And I have kept the castle keep
Each day I sweep the roses heap
Stay the night in winsome wile
And smile upon the barge and Nile

And all this while that time flew bye
Her beauty never changed my eye
She is today a flower rare
And all I do all day is stare

Without you I would surely die
As a sigh o’er a butterfly

Your devotion fills the ocean *S*

Jonah can keep the whale ...
I got me a Sy-salmon. *L*

does that make Randy a smart mouth bass? LOL

Using bait of rhymes divine and your heart that shines...how could you not be a trophy catch.
And Sy?
about that closing couplet...

*sigh*

Love does wonderful things for a man--and a poet...

Lovely beyond words. A joy to read--and to envision!---Mr. Tumbleweed sweeping rose petals---a precious sight indeed!

Love ya, Sweet Sonneteer!

Ah Sy!  One of your best right here!
How very lovely and gentle this is.
You are a charmer...for sure!
Tea's on...I'll pour...
you ponder and write more beautiful words for us.
~Morning hugs, Nancy~

Sy...such a lovely poem!

Beyond the place of pool's cold
this poet told
of a fisherman's strong and steady hold
and what she thought to spin of gold
was a fiber pure and unafraid
made from peace and love.

So from her chair she cast
with pole and filament naught
a line of words with nimble fingers fast
across a keyboard the letters sought
to find connection in this pool vast

the fisherman's heart was caught.
