a lonely heart slouched under sycamore,
throws thorns to a fireball sky
watching pale leaves attempt back-flips at dusk,
he pleads to the moon ‘when?’ and ‘why?’
the moonlight explodes in ‘I love you’,
a firework- shot from the gun-,
lost in the twilight, he cries out her name
and prays to the evening sun.
