Fields of Clover

A field of clover touched with weed
Has met my eyes my sprout of seed
Has woven threads of wedding band
A shawl of cover strand by strand

And in the shroud I am enmeshed
Bone by bone and all my flesh
The entire of heart and mind
Of agony and the kind

My flower bloomed in subtle tones
Subdued in a field of clones
Yet some were plucked for show and tell
And I was left beside the well

My cheeks have felt the kiss of wile
In fantasy with knights of style
Wore the favor of fair maid
The fairest fair within the glade

And I am happy with this dove
Her lovely grace and coo of love

I'm sorry I've been absent from reading for a while, but I'm sure glad I got a chance to read your wonderful rhymes this morning, Sy.

You are still making me smile in the early morning hours with lovely words such as these.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Good morning, Dear Sonneteer!

This is one of the loveliest sonnets of love that I have ever had the pleasure of reading!
If Isabel ever gets tired of you--NOT!--I'll be standing in the wings!

Sy, if I bring tea
may I get in line to be
one of your lovely butterflies?
Much enjoyed this lovely sonnet.

Earth Angel
You're on stage as far as I'm concerned.

Nancy,
Didn't I mention it? You are one of my prettiest butterflies.

But don't you know, dear friend? *S* Many prefer a lasting beauty to a brief show of bright color. *S* I'd say you bloom in just the right colors. *S* Beautiful!
