Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-08-20 05:15 PM

He sits there in the corner
On that chair I have
Sitting, Watching, Waiting
Ever so patient
Hoping for the day his boy returns
He was real once
He was as real as the clouds in the sky
And just as soft
He was loved best among all
The undisputed King of the Bears
Maybe he was a bit too big
But he was still nonetheless real
Until that night, that painful night
When his boy didn't need him any longer
Wasn't he loved best any more
But the answer didn't come
Not for twenty years
When he was saved from that fire
Covered with soot and smelling of smoke
The concern was there in his boy's eyes
When that mean woman washed him
And caused him to need surgery
His boy was there with tears in his eyes
He was still loved best among all
In time, his boy gave him to another
A little girl to whom he wasn't real
She held him at night, but it wasn't the same
He became real for one more night
He didn't know why
Only that his boy was holding him and crying
But that must have been only a dream
Because he is forced to sit there alone
Lost in his loneliness
Watching and waiting for the time
He will be real again.

We are all equal but we’re individually different
and able to reach the impossible if we try.

*drooling*

This is amazing work, just breathtaking.

I'm saving this along with the others, I may have to read this over and over again.. I just may.

This is very cute yet sad at the same time. I loved it.

Sue, Sue, Sue....
You spend too much time crying...
How about smiling for us once?
Thanks for the kind words.
