Countless, those weathered storms
That hunch the back against the chill.
As gusting winds swirl the cottonwood
And tug against one's resolve, one’s will.

Firm this stance against the grit,
The squint of tearing eye.
The challenge met,  head-on.
One's fear, the daunted foe.

Ah...but to have the wisdom of years
when life’s torrent flows indecisively.
To have the patience, the calm, the
firm but calming voice that one might
judge fairly,with truthfulness,
compassion and love.

Throw the first stone I say to you
who stand before me and cast
judgment against a fellow man.
Those of you whose sins are yet counted
and cloaked within the furrowed facade.

For if the stone is cast by sinless
flesh, I shall humbly accept the
hurt, the bruise of that which is
thrown. For who am I to judge
another unless I have walked their
path in their shoes or have

..felt their pain..

Barry

Fear is a foe so hard to defeat...unseen it waits, inside, not at the gate.  Yet, like you said of years and wisdom on the plate, you are the master of your own internal fate.

Big hugs, my friend!

So true, don't judge me and I won't judge you~  Pain is personal and deeply felt, like sharp pieces embedded in our souls.  And we're the only ones who know, and can heal the feelings within!

Enjoyed these thoughts that you provoked Barry~
