       Rendezvous

Within the desperate weight of silk
her skin is held down by bones
holding the fabric of life to gown

It folds and flows a feeling
that translates air
into a song that stills
the moon that guides pale and considerate
even as a daring breeze turns
and lifts the cloth
as if to tease the perfect curve and slant
and mold the tension away from back
with fingers pressed to artist’s task
slow   with grace the moon had lacked
although it licked the dirt to golden crumbs
the breeze the cool touch to skin has won

Alight alone no longer she takes a step
into the hold of shadow cut to fit the place
beside the tree beneath the bend of light
where in rendezvous with love the darkness waits

Ah yes, there you go flapping silk in breezes again, but this time I saved it to my hard drive so I won't ask you a thousand times for its title but the tension in this was almost too tight for comfort.  A good hot tub and massage, yes?

Absolutely wonderful writing, sweet lady.
I'm saving it, too.

Ooh, perfect -- I love this...can just see it. This whole poem so clear, distinct, seeing things in new ways. Simply beautiful.

...and made me want to be peepin' over the fence....! Go, breeze!

love your skribble sis, as always
it dances across the page and
leaves a soul in reminisce. Not
to mention your grace of pen...

Beautiful!

There can be freedom and safety in the shadows; it just does not seem that way to most people.

you always impress...and as always.. I am awed by the way you weave the phrase and image so tightly..the reader can see it ..but see it as they want or would...

The moon may lack grace... your words never do. *S* I love the way you draw us away from whatever world confines our bodies... right to the there. *S* Excellent!

good grief ...
my muse needs a pair of Martie glasses...
I swear you SEE poetry in everything...
and that make us VERY lucky

Its been a million years since I touched you
I was hoping time would help me win this game,
but being away from you is slowly driving me insane.

I had to come bad for another taste.  God, where would I be if I couldn't read your poetry?  I think my soul would wilt like flowers in the heat.

Simply beautiful...:-)
The last stanza allows the reader to peak through the crack in the common world and into the place of shadows, from where always rises, in dim light, the rendesvous place of love...at least this is what my imagination tells me after reading this poem...
Love to read your poetry....ice
