Worded Yellow-Brick Road
~*Marge Tindal*~

Where are all the worded yesterdays
of the backroads of my mind ?
Gathering new rust in the garages of time~
~*~
Calendar pages flipping backwards
bringing recall into rewind
Where are the worded yesterdays
of another place and time ?
~*~
Yesterday's poetic pages of fragmented time
flutter 'round the wind-of-mill
falling across the shadowed shoulders
of time now standing still~
~*~
Time standing still in the meadow
wearing the rust of Tin-Man's regret
Where is the worded yellow-brick road
that hasn't beckoned me yet ?

*If memory serves me well, and it usually does,
this one was inspired by DG after a visit to Vicky's Poetry Place*

Marge/sis...I can't imagine your words ever rusting...although the photo of Vicky's makes rust look enchanting.

Rusty words are the most powerful of all... they carry in memory wisdom yet told. Skipping down the yellow brick road the dust from the rusty words impregnate my soul.
Great write!
love and peace, Maggie ((~.~))

Indeed...I think we've all felt this
at one time or another...this touches.

A lovely write, Marge.
Hugs,
~Vicky

P.S. Just to let all of you know...I can't take
credit for the photo that Marge found on my
website.  I found it on one of the 'free
photos' sites on the web, and shared it as
a 'challenge' photo on my own site.
I am very glad that Marge found it, and DG's
poem, inspiring.
