And What Of Him  (people watcher)

from a distance
I saw he was
knots of terry cloth
absorbing and I
was drawn
in a wrapping kind
of comfort
that words
sometimes do
he wrote in
uncut loops
of natural fiber
blotting my drops
each of them
          and I thought
          he loved me
till I realized
he was just
passing over

Perhaps he does love you, or could learn from you what love is, but has never learned the correct frame of reference to understand what to do.

I keep coming back to this, and I just don't know how to express what I'm feeling here...

But when I read you, I SEE you, like a genteel southern lady, doing needlepoint on the porch.

(ooops. Now I'm watching you, watch him...)

Yer lovely yanno.

Ahah, see where Karen got the inspiration, as I too saw you watching him.  Truly you have a way of almost taking us into your mind when you write sometimes, and this was one of those times.  Let him go!

Helen, this makes me sad. You seem to be too sweet of a person to be treated like this.
Hugs to you
