Horizons bend on curls
Of rising heat
Reflected

Shimmer if you will
Illusion that you are
To tempt my sight beyond
Solid form and into nights

Cool nights that glimmer
As waves show peak
To touch moonlight
And there
Next to the old boats
Rock us in cradled arms
As we lie bottom of boat
And stare to stars
For the question

Relief?

We are petty thieves
You and I
Who steal from the days passing
Moments of tender to horde
For longer dog days like this
So we might at least then
Sup a draught of false comfort
From our memory

If caught surely we would
Lose the hands that now
Reach in beg for one more stroke
Of willing,

Of love

Tonight
The moon will rise late
And I will remember again
Desert days of you

Dancing
Sinuous

Causing  your own form
Of heat stroke

Your own
Dis-ease

Dropping veils
One by one
Until we both see
The bare truth

And know

Mirages do not
offer tender

only
Illusions

Yep...wouldn't we now?

I wish I could be your poetry..instead of me.

The title caught my attention...
then I saw your name...
and I knew...
...knew I was in for a treat.
This I am keeping..
along with the seventh veil.

Oh sir, I have missed your poetry...and this is the perfect example of why...
I can't wait to be back among these blue pages, it is so very very missed....
and when I get back I will be reading and looking up all kinds of gems like this one capt.  Hope you are well.  God bless.

I must have had my momma's will
and Gods Amazing Grace...

I'm a survivor....

Wow...I really liked this, it was so descriptive. Thanks for the beautiful read.
