Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-08-19 11:08 AM

Sixteen Was Long Ago

Strands of words were softly braided
through skeins of music recklessly woven
and draped me lovingly in silk, did he
with patterned patter of tender loving

and I will never forget him

soft, then softer, held by his voice
and lost, O lost, there was no choice
and yearn, O yearning, I was quit
forbore I then of any wit

and I will never forget him

heavy lashes hooded soft brown eyes
jet dusk hair softly characterized
his nondescript sense of abject living
but yet he had this way of giving

and I will never forget him

he was such a young man's bad boy
captured females' hearts as his toys
and yes, O yes I fell for his ploy
and the parents, O, he annoyed…

and I will never forget him

there's always one, there's always him
that one who keeps a romance's whim
when strands of words are softly braided
when a love like that will never be sated

and we will never forget them.

Oh my...yes...there will always be that one.
Usually the bad boy kind..that made all the girls swoon..
Yes..there was one...and I remember, oh so well.
Thank you for this..today...Karilea.

I was sixteen the first time I fell madly in love. And, no, we never forget them. I had lots of boyfriends before him, but noe that I remember like him...there's always that special one.

He annoyed my parents, too, back then....but they run into him every now and then and they now think he is the nicest man. So, the boy who they thought was getting too serious is now a man they respect and like.
Funny, huh?

Yep, this brought back some good memories.

I thought of Elvis, then of course the one that made my heart jump well that was Jackie Wilson, but then there was a very tall basketball player, named Wayne O. that introduced me to love, live, and laughter, and I was 16 for a long time.  Thanks for the memories, woven through your hair indeed

Your "strands of words are softly braided".

Ah, sixteen was a heart-tripping year for me as well!

Oh my gosh, this is just fabulous! I remember him well. His name was Bobby and I thought my father would have a breakdown before I moved on to the next heartthrob. I think every young teenage girl, at some point, has a crush on the 'bad boy.'

I wanna be Bobby's girl
I wanna be Bobby's girl

That's the most important thing to me.
And if I was Bobby's girl
if I was Bobby's girl

What a faithful
thankful girl I'd be.
When People ask of me
what would you like to be

Now that you're not a kid anymore?
I know just what to say
I answer right away

There's just one thing I've been wishing for:

I wanna be Bobby's girl
I wanna be Bobby's girl
. . .
Each night I sit at home
hoping that he will phone

But I know Bobby has some one else.
Still in my heart I pray there soon will come a day

When I will have him all to myself.
I wanna be Bobby's girl
I wanna be Bobby's girl
...
What a faithful
thankful girl I'd be.
What a faithful
thankful girl I'd be.
Bobby's girl
I wanna be Bobby's girl
