Lately when the madness comes
and knocks upon the windows
of my mind,
I tell it I'm too busy,
I can't come out to play
right now,
then quietly I hope it goes away,
becomes a friend I used to know
before our lifestyles changed,
a friend with whom I spent my youth
but don't invite to see again.

Near perfection, icebox. Sure your madness isn't genius?

IceBox~
Sometimes I seek the madness, sometimes it seeks me ...
problem is ... I'm usually home~

Enjoyed the read~

One can always hope it accepts the lack of invitation... but I personally think it's rather rude. *G*

I like this very much. *S*

your poetry, like fine wine, sir!

envokes a memory...
years ago, something a friend said in compromise:
"we will never pass this way again"
that is, of course, until
"the madness comes
and knocks upon the windows
of my mind"

The past has a way of coming back...sometimes when you would rather it stay away.  But, who knows, there may still be things to learn from it.

Icebox...
I have got to say that you are rapidly becoming one of my top 3 favorites on this site... weverything you write is just too close to absolute perfection.
Phenominal job, this.

Kaoru ~ *smile*

ljossberir ~ Madness is the inability to live with the world the way it is in its full reality.

littlewing ~ Oh...I think we would have to work on that together. *smile*

Ratleader ~ "...the past, like an evil clown,
                      stalking..."
Absolutely!

Enchantress ~ I am very glad it was good for you. *grin*

Marge Tindal ~ Yes, sometimes I too manage to snatch madness right from the jaws of sanity. *smile*

Sunshine ~ You are welcome.

suthern ~ Madness is not exactly rude, just often determined.

Robert Frazier ~ It is funny how common thoughts weave through the collective human consciousness.

Martie ~ You are right.  I am dealing with that right now; I just can not fathom what there is left to learn from current circumstances.  It is exhausting.

Ringo ~ Thank you for that very nice compliment.  I feel honored.

angelblueyes ~ You are correct.  I think we should always have the option to duct tape it in place!   *smile*
