Petals

Petals of tomorrow spiraling up a staircase of
climatic mystery
Drifting on the wind, pirouetting on toes
of a sweet smelling ambrosia of today and yesterday.
Winter
A glistening comforter of pristine white
covering the ground with thin slices of sparkling ice
Each snowflake an intricate pattern
of beauty and design
The color of winter a smoldering opulent pearl.
Spring
Hidden in a garden of lace
with black silhouettes
Are new awakenings of soft greens
with delicate touches of creamy lemon yellows
The color of spring a delicate shade of peridot.
Summer
A calliope the Muse of eloquence
A musical, a symphony, a chorus
of nature singing in harmony
The color of summer a tantalizing sapphire blue.
Fall
A time for sleep, a time for rest
The aromas of pumpkin, fresh apple cider, vanilla,
cinnamon,
evergreen and mulberry
The colors of fall are of jade, amber, carnelian and
brilliant emerald.

May the petals of the seasons open your eyes to the
beauty our creator has given us-
He has given us the sense of sight to be able to enjoy
this enthralling beauty
The sense of smell to enrapture us with the
fragrances of the season
The titillating taste of the diversified flavors of the
planet
The fragility of a touch caressing the fragile beauty
of the universe
May you hear the orchestrated beauty of tomorrow,
today and of course the elusive
yesterday.

Bonnie j - the way you've written about the seasons, I'm not sure which one I like best...

I loved the way you described all 4 seasons. I could picture it.

Bonnie, this is my favorite (and that is saying a great deal!) of your poems that I have read. I am very fond of descriptive poems on the seasons, and you have done a masterful job with this write!
