When Silence Speaks

When words have failed their tended cause
And gestures will grow weak --
We stand across in a distant pause
-- And let the silence speak.

The Sun peaks thru with a worried face
And rests upon the bars --
“Why have you” - He asks with grace -
“Not called upon the stars?”

“’Tis not for stars to guide our Fate”
-- Will thunder my reply --
“Nor Sun in turn proclaim debate,
What heart itself deny.”

And Sun, as Reason, tilts His head,
Then winks into my heart.
The small crack closes, where it bled
And a rift had drawn apart.

And I look at Her dressed in a gown
Of boundless love as skies.
There on Her head -- a starry crown,
And Sunlight in Her eyes.

Should naught but silence follow pride,
No words come from above --
Then kindly let the Reason ride
The chariot of Love.

Nicely done CG,  a touch of rhyme and meter
upon the page.  Nice write,  like the feel
