Solemn Thoughts Sure, I heard you Walking up my sleepy brain These longing eyes are convinced Of shadows in empty places This lonely shoulder felt a loving stroke From nowhere yet somewhere good Or perhaps from you The one who I seek at marked grave Who is to say that I am sane or insane? Fantasy or phantom True or false dreams Mourning minds play cruel tricks And mourning hearts ... so much worse They yearn for scraps of real anything Is it not a documented fact in some damn book? And why are such books sought? I don't wish to know today. I will simply toss these solemn thoughts And crazed questions into the void I have only my genius to declare!
