Everafter Extinct

Rapunzel me in daydream pose
for a shining knight, stallion galloped
with strong hands to climb hair sky walls
and Sir Lancelot lips to lick my wounds.

So why did I get my hair cut yesterday?

"Off in the sunset" is overrated
in tomorrow's taunt without remorse
like a white horse bucking the prince
to hang my head tiara bear of diamonds
in apple bitter without the save of sweet.

Poor little pathetic me
I'm the pity princess again,
so perhaps I should join in the laughter?
Who needs happily ever after anyway?
I'm no fool, I'm just well-read
in need of a harlequin fairytale, Danielle Steel style,
definately sans the Fabio.

Deja vu, I'm the butt of cupid's joke
of murphy's law in full force
and good ole fate just loves to grin
for, in the end I always get
the riderless white horse.

I really liked this. You wrote it really well. Ouch, though.

...Wow! I haven't read Danielle Steel in...forever!!!!

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Oh no...how short?
That's okay...bet you look beautiful just the same.
And, like Nan says ...it will grow back.
