For my daughter, Chelsea,
who sits beneath a tree
with pen and spiral notebook
journaling away as I did
at her age.

Journaling Journeys

Mama sweeps back
drab dreary drapes,
revealing living
picture window
of bygones

Mature eyes
capture memories of
journaling journeys

Snapshots of
sweet blonde, blue-eyed crushes
pink lipstick glow blushes
bosom buddys' secrets
di’ried unregrets

She sees herself,
beneath swallow
of willow’s pillow,
protected from
summer’s simmer
breathing her life
in crisp autumnal leaflets

A youthful smile
returns
in knowing

Acorns still beget Acorns

Like mother, like daughter

How sweet, and precious is this! Wow that just blessed my socks off just seeing these images. What a precious sight, and the knowing of the things you leave behind give her the same things to express her inner being. What a sweet tribute to your daughter and the Heritage you have left to her. Beautiful! for the two of you!!
Lovely!

"Like mother, like daughter"--indeed!--and that is a beautiful thing. The acorn certainly did not fall far from the tree.

An especially touching poem.

Love & blessings to both you and Chelsea.
