(Yay, it's great to be back...again. It's been a crazy week with the LuvSan virus hitting my computer and all! Now I got the patch installed and can finally post more of my Ireland poems! (hugs to all) )

Still Waters Run Deep
By: Noah Eaton
7/26/03

Guess you didn't skip the stone
Far enough across the ocean
Beneath that smooth stream you failed to look deep
Or we simply had
Nothing in common
Looking me in the eye you found me weak...

And I never had an ulterior motive
I never felt dispassionate
Listening to you was my first priority
My cover has been blown
All disguises become outgrown
Through my true complexion you couldn't see...

Still I feel the wisp
The remanence
Long after you gave me the slip
Someday you'll see
That still waters run deep
You never saw the better part of me...

It doesn't matter if I'm too susceptive
Surely you've felt the hypertension
On the contrary here there's no clear sailing
I never took you as my suttee
Just wanted you to explore my well-being
If you went down in flames, I'd follow righteously...

Still I feel the wisp
The remanence
Long after you gave me the slip
Someday you'll see
That still waters run deep
You couldn't see the better part of me...

It is behind my eyes
Underneath these bones and blood inside
Beyond all reason and pedantry
You can clip off my wings
And still you'll find me soaring
Rifles and power lines aren't curfews, I can see...

I don't need no storm window
Rock me in the water, not in the vessel
My only barometer will be my god-given will
Behind my exterior
There's a lost frontier
And my soul has more than my lungs can fill...

And I never had an ulterior motive
I never felt dispassionate
Listening to you was my first priority
My cover has been blown
All disguises become outgrown
Through my true complexion you couldn't see...

Still I feel the wisp
The remanence
Long after you gave me the slip
Someday you'll see
That still waters run deep
You'll never see the better part of me...

I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth
I can see the sun set and I perceive

Indeed they do.  I can relate.  These lines especially stood out for me:

Guess you didn't skip the stone
Far enough across the ocean
Beneath that smooth stream you failed to look deep

A soulful write shared and appreciated.

Hmmm...there might be more to this story!

Hi Noah, gosh it's good to see you back. I hope you had a wonderful trip and I'm looking forward to reading more about it.

Wow as always it's such a treat, and a delight to read you. I read this, and two places in this really stood out for me----
_____________________________________________
"Guess you didn't skip the stone
Far enough across the ocean
Beneath that smooth stream you failed to look deep...."

If only this person would have looked deeper and took the time to find the person inside
_____________________________________________

It hurts when the other never really took the time to see the real you. Never took the time to ask the questions about the things that really show what a person is REALLY made of when things are going bad, and the chips are down. Instead of always finding fault. The other part was this-----
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Someday you'll see
That still waters run deep
You never saw the better part of me..."
Thanks for this write. It's like someone put a voice to what I never could really find the words to say. Amszing as always.
Bless ya bunches,
I find your "still waters" oh so refreshing and some day you will find a Lady just right for you that will feel the same way.  Yep, no doubt about it.
Still wish I could "hear" these songs of yours.
always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same
Hey Noah,
I must have missed this one when I was working on my computer. I got that worm too. I installed a new Norton Anti-virus and Security Protection program. I also installed a lot of the security that XP had been telling me to, but I thought that I didn't need. My computer seems to be running slower or something, though.
Anyway, I'm glad that you're back. I sure have missed your poems and replies to mine, too.
Hugs
