Green Crayons

She ‘magines her sisters
seated ‘round table of
finest monogrammed linens as

Elegant speak chimes
amidst polished silver
and delicate French porcelain

In tongue tie,
she attempts
to retrieve her
fallen napkin,
unseen by matrons of refine

For ‘tis a graceful
knee bend that
has always
escaped her curtsy

Remaining ever
an onlooker with
her chipped
mug of joe and
words never finding
concerto flow

Still hopeful,

Her eyes aglow

With someday sparkle,

A twinkling of fairy
Godmother’s wand,
a sprinkling of
enchanted talc shall
some eve
transform this Cinderella’s
rags to riches.

Until then...

She listens,
listens
to her sisters’
plumes
etching prophetic
wisdoms
upon antique parchment

While she,
with green crayon
and scratch paper,
eeks out her heart

What'cha doing in my shoes???

You've spoken well of the
insecure ones who hear the chatter
about them, unsure when to wedge
in a word amid the tight chatter
of those who glow...

while our own words nestle deep within,
just waiting a release, and finally,
when it pours...it comes with thunder...

and green crayons...

I am Very Proud of You!

I was just pondering today how I enjoy the moments of creating a poem, while others seem to enjoy madly mundane satisfactions ...

Wonderfully written. Your green crayons are exceptional companions for your poetic journeys.

Love, Margherita

We transform through words. Cinderella had to wait for a wand to do the magic. Your writing creates your own. I loved this! More than words could say.
