Light

That which gives light must endure burning.
--Viktor Frankl

Let us be each other's light
you for me and me for you
shining bright to show the way
never allowing blackouts

I promise to be your light
illuminating your heart
with abundant tenderness
giving you comfort and joy

Thus for me to be your light
I must have intensity
enduring all obstacles
learning to handle the flame

Our love is not a flicker
it is not a pilot light
nor a small votive candle
it is a flame of greatness

No matter how high the flame
or how hot our fires ignite
I am here for you always
to fuel all your desires

I shall stay steadfast for you
nurturing our growing love
overcoming all these trials
formulating happiness

For I want us to always
keep our light for each other
flaming as an inferno
enduring for each other

Janette

A special thanks goes to my good friend, John, for sharing this inspirational quote with me for it also goes perfectly for my life, too.

READERS please NOTE: this was not written for nor about John, we are truly just good friends, nothing more nothing less.

Marge - thank you for your reply and the cute "Huglets," too.

inkedgoddess - I agree that this piece is a bit different for me but then love has many moods and thus so does my writing, plus I am a woman of many moods for I am a Gemini. *wink*
Thanks for the read and the comment and if you wish to know for whom this was written for then just email me and I shall tell you.  Thanks for the read.

Enchantress - and big summertime smiles back at you, too, pretty Lady.  Thank you.

garysgirl - as you well know inspiration can come at the oddest moments, even when our lives are so busy that it seems we cannot stop to take time to put thoughts to paper.  But then this came to me out of the blue from my dear friend and thus I used it to express my love for my man.
(and no ... John is NOT my man ... just a friend)
Thank you for taking the time to leave me your reply, I truly appreciate it.
