LONE STAR

It was
dawn, barely light. A single bird chirped,
The moon was not quite full, but still very bright
in the early morning dawn.

She sat
and watched the only star left shining as the sky
lightened in the east.

Lone star
Just like her. No others close to it,
Just like her.

But
Is that true? Surely that isn’t the only
star in the sky. Surely there are other’s
just not shining so bright.

That star
is not alone in the sky. She is not alone.
Just today she feels like that lone star in the sky.

Tomorrow,
if she looks, and it probably won’t take much
She will see
more stars, closer than she thought.

So
Maybe she really is like

That Lone Star in the sky.

That star
is not alone in the sky. She is not alone.
Just today she feels like that lone star in the sky.

We can't always help our feelings...
nor should we have to justify them,
even if they are just for today.
I can relate so well...
Thank you and welcome~
