The Dragon’s Gift

if I stop my breath
I hear him     even
on the other    side or there
behind the trees

flat wings roar in the silence
as he slants into view
fallturns and shears across
this mist of waterair
scans through the mounds of it

it is a cloud to him
the change of pitch as he dips out

I can go without breaking
walk the water of this
groundfog mirror

if I follow through
travel as he to both ends
of real        exist

but I flinch as he turns too close
it is no good    I cannot
I fall into the dirt and stars
and he will turn turn
fixed crystal eyes
see all and nothing
nothing and

if I follow through
is real there waiting
someplace I will clasp
to the knuckles
fling elbows knees around

wings around

does he flinch as I turn too close
hear me lead        follow
sight down my crystals
blathering through the fog

touch me quickly now
before the amber sets

lock that impression into me
shape me now
stay the stasis
shadowed amber fill of light
after this tiny green
seal me touch me now

make it last

Ed, my friend, I do like this. I like the
way you wrote it, with the repetition of
some of the words. That really added to the meaning.

Ed...

touch me quickly now
before the amber sets

"lock that impression into me
shape me now
stay the stasis
shadowed amber fill of light
after this tiny green
seal me touch me now

make it last"

Ed has found a magic carpet of his own...with dizzy color, and a little crazy of fear.  Wonderful imagery.

You touch so many levels of our being with this... fear, faith, despair, determination... and perhaps most of all... hope. *S* This shines with magnificent imagery... excellent work! *S* And this ending? *S* Simply superb... real is found. *S*

The way you move me
I walk with your shadow
With your silhouette
