upon the field
crow's shadow cast
lightning flashes
o'er trembling oaks

through the din
of pipes and armour
her shrilling
from the swollen grey

seals our fates
still onward we trudge
to battle
to death

Ah The Morrighan - if you are interested in her there is a lovely picture of her at www.enchanted-art.com Jessica Galbreth is a wonderful artist. She does many Goddesses, mythical creatures, faeries etc

You captured her beautifully by the way.

While The Crows Waited

Through the glens in the night,
blades blackened or hidden from sight,
nettle flogged legs to give some heat,
still the damned hoarfrost nipped at my seat,
crossing the river and mounting the dale
by morning ready to strike.

O'er the crest we came with the dawn,
war pipes awailing like the Ban'Sihde,
the dogs were loosed the blades were drawn;
we came to die or live to be free
and fell on them at Ballantrae;
the cry was havoc, the shout was heard
last remnant of the spoken word.

Morrighu! Morrighu! Morrighu!

Yes, it is.  I put it here just to tell my friend Raph that I remember the same battle.

They are both brilliant.

A friend of mine is rather fond of the Morrighan - will be sure to tell her to check them out!
