Just how much is weight of sorrow
What are the pounds of deep despair
When you feast on self-derision
How many calories are there?
How heavy is a broken spirit
How much do nightmares tip the scales?
Leaden is the very knowledge
That no one hears your frightened wails.
So when heart soars and feet walk lighter
It's not so odd that pounds are shed
Just evidence of choosing living
Instead of being walking dead.

That is the absolute truth, and so clear now that you've said it. The downers do make you gain -- any downer, anything that depresses or makes you inactive.

Love on the other hand is pretty much the opposite of all that -- Yep, and when your new diet book comes out, I'm definitely buyin' a copy!

I have been on the Atkins diet for a week now...and I feel like the walking dead, Suthern.  No carbs...no energy.  I prefer your diet.  Seems your words have put a spring in my step.

I love your work!
