In the valley of deep despair,
Streaming tears flow out to sea.
A lone dove sings in mourning,
In weeping willow tree.

Lost souls roam scorched flatlands,
Of grays and blacks and browns.
There are no kindred spirits,
Just empty, dreary towns.

Dry winds blow prickly sagebrush,
Across the barren land.
Dust storms fill the valley,
With mounds of gritty sand.

The air is thick and putrid,
And filled with choking dust.
Breathing is laborious,
In decaying realm of rust.

The skies are dark and brooding,
The sun lights not the day.
The stars at night are cloaked in black,
No sight of Milky Way.

In the valley of deep despair,
Streaming tears flow out to sea.
A lone dove sings in mourning,
In weeping willow tree.

You have described the feeling perfectly,
but this still read very beautifully to me.

I hope this doesn't have anything to do with you current state of mind?!?!

BluesSerenade ~

No, Dear Lori! Thankfully, those days are behind me--not to say I don't have any more unpleasant surprises in store for me! But I'll be ready for them--I'm much stronger now!--in all ways!

This Earth certainly can be a school of hard knocks!

Thank you for your warm reply!

Linda

Linda, you explain the valley like someone who has explored a good deal of it. I hope you have had your share of joy, too. But maybe (since you ARE an angel!) you are called to help poor hurting souls who are lost in the valley. If that is the case, keep up the good work!

Great write.

I don't think you could write of this so well if you hadn't walked the paths... and I hate to think of your lovely spirit mired in such anguish. *S* Excellent write, dear lady... glad it's not a reflection of your current situation. *S*

I have known days like these.  I am glad such days pass, albeit slowly.  You did describe the feeling so well, EA.

EA,

This is very well done, as usual. It is a painful reminder of a place I do not wish to revisit.

Will you do me a great favor, for I am in need of the moment. Please describe heaven and joy. From you it would be a gift.

Very descriptive, and very well, done... Few get better than this.

El_C ~

I appreciate your very thoughtful response to my poem. Thankfully, I have come through all my trials and tribulations (thus far!)
stronger and hopefully wiser! That enables me to reach out to those who are going through difficult times, with understanding and love.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Linda, this is very touching, dearest friend, in that dark age I trespassed within before with me being deceived by so many I felt I identified myself as a grackel that no one ever pays attention to! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Your respones really touched me.  I have compassion for your not being a stranger to the valley of deep despair. I am honored with your request for a poem on heaven & joy.

In my area, we had been without power for over 2 days and I am now behind in a few things, but hopefully I shall be able to come up with a poem that could help put a smile on your face, and joy in your heart!
