There’s such a chill rummaging through my lean body. Each bone that I possess trembles in the dark, As if someone is walking over my grave. Time has no bearing, Nature non-caring. The only god here is that of survival. Slowly I edge towards safety. My brain computes an uneasy calm, But my walking frame seeks total respite. Logic dictates if I rest I will fall. Memories of youth inspire, While evil forces around me conspire. The snowstorm now is relentless. Mercy is officially outlawed. Naively I thought white was the colour of peace. I feel tired ……………………………. |
