Silent Missives

This verse will be tight pressed in closed pages
Like crackling rose petals pleading a fleeting look
Suffocated and paralyzed through the passing ages
Within the confines of an old forgotten book

Ink etched leaves of wondrous thoughts and phrases
That sit dead upon a rarely dusted shelf
Rotting in a paper tomb on yellowed pages
The eye not yet prepared to gaze into itself

Thus remain the remains of a lyrical psalm
That poured from a mind in the deepest dark of night
Each lifeline etched upon the aesthetic palm
Soft, silent missives singing to the ear of delight

Some day a weary eye and will search for peace
Among parched pages left wilting days upon days
A once mortal verse will come alive to release
The mystical splendor of its eternal phrase

Eliazbeth, this is so beautiful. It's gone down the pages so fast, I'm sending it back for another round. Oh,and I'm keping it too, to study. I hope that you don't mind. You are so talented!!

A graceful write from the quill of a poetess who exudes grace herself! Lovely, lovely, lovely!---That's my triple "L" rating!

The photo of you and your grandchildren is a pleasant sight to see!

Oh I feel too spoiled, first the posies and then this wonderful gem of a write.  Yes, one day we will shuffle through those yellowed pages with the fondest of memories Liz.

That picture is adorable, can I have the big one in email Liz?  My how they have grown.

I love those lines, Liz!  excellent job describing how some things are written before their time...well, that's what I got from it, anyway...not too perceptive these days, so I could be kinda off...     either way, I enjoyed it, as I always do your poetry...
