Thoughts of you go on, unopposed
like Alexander at the gates of Thebes
They lay to waste resisting will
till is declared, "you are invincible"

Bind me now with cords of steel
carry deep within pale Chephren's tomb
No thoughts exposed to overcome
tills left no doubt, this war is won

Resolution now laid aside
beneath the shadow of its might
only thoughts of you till next we meet
my surrender now complete

I like this poem, especially the allusions. If you don't mind, I'd appreciate feedback from you or anyone else on one of my poems containing allusions to the Gospel of John.
