Still, this night of starlit shimmer, of flickering
fires and the occasional sweep of a lighthouse
beacon warning sailors of shoal waters.

Standing, motionless with waves gently lapping
delicate toes, tiny crabs scurrying down a
darkened beach....looking for a mere morsel
to consume beneath the moon’s light.

A woman, seasoned face from days of golden
rays, salt spray and tanning oil.  Standing,
staring into the distance toward the open ocean.

Thinking of a man, one man who turns her to
jelly, lights her fires and stokes the hearth of
their dreams.   A smile comes over her face
as she reflects of candles, wine, cheese,
bread and delicate kisses.

Sound of a distant fog horn breaks the thought
and she shivers slightly as a single tear falls
slowly toward the brine, rippling slightly
before the next wave caresses toes.

Turning, walking away, remembering
“Red sky at night....sailors delight”
For the setting sun had cast a reddish
hue into the heavens....

A deep sigh escapes ruby lips, hungering,
longing for the taste of her half of his
grape.....as lips meet and fires dance
the eyes of love.....once again....

Soon my love,   soon....

Nancy,  this is for your SIGH!!!

Ok, so amid the sigh, I'm smiling.  Don'tcha know we'd both write about cheese!?  Quick, hide, or Duncan will pounce on this and say something about being cheesy...or does he hold those remarks just for me?

I'd be joining the sighing gang but for one thing... I live near the gulf and it's hurricane season... I'd hate for my expellation of air to upset some delicate atmospheric balance. *G*

This is lovely, Magnus... I greatly enjoyed!

Magnus . . . I must say . . .
lucky woman indeed and here:

she shivers slightly as a single tear falls
slowly toward the brine, rippling slightly
before the next wave caresses toes.

are the most beautiful lines . . .
I have been there myself many times
