Never Just Right

The clock ticks in my head
telling me soon it will be over
and all the wondering can stop.

My skin will peel me new,
slough off those edgy feelings
of never again, as my phone rings silent
and the makeover begins
and I surrender myself to hands that mold
waiting for the tug of heart
to untangle its twisted feel.

I catch my teeth grinding my thoughts
shooting the pain until I hear its memory
binding me awake into a yesterday's fog
again.

The missed of you, the naked unaccounted for,
deepening my vision until I can sculpt every
harsh word into an artform awaiting vandalism.

How could my eyes have been so shortsighted?
How could they see reason and lose the within?

Hearts are never logical, they image consult,
eyes doing the work of the mind,
the mind debating rationality
and then falling prey to opportunity,
and winsomeness.

I dance to that beat, oftened unforgiven,
too slow for some
too fast for others,
never just right...

~A~

"My skin will peel me new,

of never again, as my phone rings silent
and the makeover begins . . ."

"The missed of you, the naked unaccounted for,
deepening my vision until I can sculpt every

What can I say?  I should say nothing, and only admire the way you put words together.
Always look for you here . . .
