The Navigate

As if in tempest, swells ascend
These seas rise up to meet the wind
Enfold and hold this hurricane
That only you can soothe again

Breezing rain clouds with the sun
Darkness with the bursting dawn
There is no rage inside this storm
Ambivalence or hidden harm

A reasonable assessment where
Is only found of show and share
How well you navigate depths fair
When only you, will do…or dare

As under moon’s control and please
You hold within your arms full seas
There storms arise and lay to calm
In quiet drops within your palm

And where there be related state
Watermarks articulate
Rivers run in currents bold
Streams to seas of her I’m told

In clues as whirlpools circulate
Then man, how well you navigate

~ a wonderful first stanza that sets up the remainder of this remarkable poem.

TD,
This is an amazing verse...With each read (and there were several) I extracted something new.

A true navigator never gets use to the storms, Kathleen - because if that were to happen, the next one would take him under...

Well done!

You write so beautifully delicate--truly a class act, TD. And the final line left me smiling.
