Who’s Turn Is It?

I ask God to please
let you be mine
I prayed kneeling
in salty liquid
even ask a witch
for a spell
knowing it might
send fire on me
and I flipped it
and lit a candle
in your name
with it
unable to sleep most nights
thinking
wondering why
when I did sleep
dreams came
searching my worthiness
in your face
seeing you
inches away
and inching away
who do I cry to now
tired of being tired
a million words
attach themselves
to the moon
and I am somewhere
here in between
where are you
you are worried
about the take
maybe this time
it was all about the give
and one of us
being sad
is too many

"I am living a life, i have no wish to live. How did this happen?" Unknown

"and one of us

solemn hand-over-heart hugs, helen.

I can just feel the world going hollow with these lines.....what a poignant way to say it.
