Take a walk with me Angel
To the quay with me Angel
Let me look into your face
As you leave this place
Drifting down the river from me, Angel

Drift away from me Angel
Far away from me Angel
I can still hear your voice
Though you’ve left no choice
But to let you drift away, Angel

Do you love me still Angel?
Will you always love me Angel?
When your soul slips free
To mingle in the breeze
Will you still have love for me, Angel?

We’ll be together always Angel
Together for eternity, Angel
When we’re both in heaven
I hear all things are forgiven
Won’t we always be together then

My Angel?

Ed...this is covered with light, yet heavy with sadness.  Love feels that way many times.

I loved the questioned ending here Ed, with the reference to heaven.

Left ME smiling, wondering who was wondering about the intent. Yanno what I mean?

Of course ya do.

Well, Ed, like some of the others, I don't know who was the inspiration, but I sure am glad you were inspired. This is a beautiful poem, Sir Poet. I really enjoyed reading.

We’ll be together always Angel
Together for eternity, Angel
When we’re both in heaven
I hear all things are forgiven
Won’t we always be together then

I really loved this ending.

I can always conjure this up again, yes?

Always nice to see a man pleading...

Dark to more of a greyish color.  This was nice.  I enjoy everything you write though.  I think some of it inspires me.

I'm not going to ask
where this inspiration is coming from,
only that you keep
putting it here
for our pleasure!

Oh my, Ed...this is simply beautiful.

I just love the whole 'feel' of this.  More, please?

Ed! This is very lovely. And I love the question at the end, we won't know until the end, will we?

Good to read you again!

This is truly lovely! The world would be a better place if more men could express themselves like this!

I have only my genius to declare!

There is a beautiful lightness to this SONG, even though the topic is melancholic.
Loved this much.
