Could we be this?

Could we be as mirrors standing
empty before the other -
Admiring the absence of our
own reflections?

Could we be as the moon?

Whose image fades in stilled
waters with the coming of
the day.

Or could we be as the water...still
and silent in the presence of
its lovers gaze?

Could we be this?

Would we recognize this love
in lesser visions of
ourselves?

Do we need more?

Could we be as the wind...content
to kiss the ground in
passing?

Or would we be the earth...and cast
ourselves in the tenderness of
this brief caress?

We could be all...and we could
be nothing.

Yet the questions always
remain.

Do we need answers?

Or could we simply be...this?

My vote goes for simply being "this", forget the questions....a fine poem in form and function... the images create thought in the readers mind, just like they should....ice

(smiles) Oh Eric, I don't believe there have to be any answers! (big hugggsssssss) That's just the problem with so many: they spend too much timne questioning and not enough time living, and I believe living pretty much gives answers away anyway that need not be examined! (sigh) God less You, sweet friend, I'm so happy to read your wonderful poetry again, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

My heart always opens wide to listen when I take in your beautiful words.

Could we? Yes, we are nothing and everything, alternatively ... filling each other to the brim with love and beauty.

It only takes an open heart ... with the magic you share, it is easy!

Loving you, Margherita

Or would we be the earth...and cast
ourselves in the tenderness of
this brief caress?

what beautiful lines . . .
