Little girl stands by the sea
Gazing on the powers that be
Funny how familiar this girl seems
Wiggling sand beneath her toes
Watching skimming rocks she throws
Not a care to break her playful schemes...

Little girl, I know you well
Know the little tears that fell
Watched your castles floating out to sea
Did you realize back then
That life can take, then give again
Just build another castle from your dreams...

Little girl, you've time to spare
Unlike these eyes that only stare
Upon your picture, hoping that I see
Myself again, the child within
And back in time my mind will spin
To days of salty waves and warm sunbeams...

Little girl, I think I know
Why things seemed better long ago
Growing up has altered many things
I've had my share of painful woes
But still have sand between my toes
And just like you,
I keep on building castles
from my dreams...

Indeed, I wonder where the hope continues to come from within us, and then I realize...

it's because it IS within us...

and no one can Really touch it....or destroy it.

Hi Ceinwyn, and yes, we all should have that sand between our toes...we need to keep that child alive inside, I think!  Thank you so much, and glad you enjoyed my little flight of fancy here, my friend!  ~S~

Hi Sunshine, and you got it!  Whatever we choose to keep inside is ours, and really can't be taken by anyone or anything until we are no longer.  Glad to see you here, sun-sis, and thank you...~S~

(smiles) God Bless You, sweet friend, and always remember that that little girl is always deep inside of you and if you live with the spirit of the girl in you nothing can bring down those sand castles if you build them further from the tide! (kiss on cheek) Yay, you are such a special friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sunnyone, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
