Ever so patient they stand there in wait
The dust and the time and the title their fate
Forever to venture the realm that might share
Each word of enticement and stories of there

Each stands with a presence as aura would give
Each carries a vision to make each word live
Each gives up a pleasure to pleasure fulfill
Each waits ever patient as lovers they will

In shadows well hidden, by light of decree
The mighty, the humble, all share time with me
Through moments so precious, when peace I must find
The mighty, the humble lay rest to my mind

When cover I open, when cover I close
Those moments are spent where some precious time goes
And I then remember the gift of the word
Where moments are silent but stories are heard

So off with the fairies and off to a land
Where stories are mighty and writings are grand
Off to a place that is hidden from time
To tranquil surroundings where peace it is mine

Just beautiful, Rick.  My children love to read.  They are with their father today, but, if you don't mind, I want to keep this in my library to share with them.

A lovely write.

Rick, oh how right you are. Books are such a blessing. They are there whether we are feeling up, or down in the dumps. They save us from ourselves really. Whenever I am in a bookstore, I feel so at peace and I love to inhale deeply the scent of new pages. Strange isn't it what effect the written word can have on us? Great write and going into my library. hugs, Chris

Dear Sue, you are always so wonderful in your comments, all that I can say is thank you for that, I have not been writing all that much of late, purchased a new camera and having a little fun learning and sharing time with my father who has a love for photography. I am sure I will be writing more again soon. Take care my friend, your comments are always heart felt.

Thanks for your reply Paul, it is definatly a way of escape through captivation and the enticement of words. Great to hear from you my friend, take care.

To you both again thank you, all replies a truly appreciated.

Sincerely
Rick

oh Rick...you have taken me back to my youth with this, a time before book reports when I was made to read, a time where reading was not forced and I loved it! I could out-read anyone!

I could have a two-inch-thick book done in a day.

Lovely writing my friend, thanks for the journey

Rick, I'm always glad when I see your name here. I know that I will have another heartfelt and sincere poem to read from your pen. This is no exception. It's beautiful and I'm going to keep it, too. I hope you don't mind.

I loved it all, but this ending was really something else.........

So true, my friend.

Hello Rick

I am so pleased that you and your father share a love of photography.  My father and I shared the same love and when I was young I remember helping him out in his home darkroom where we would develop black and white pictures.  He taught me so much about photography and after he died Mum gave me his cameras and lenses which I treasure dearly.  I hope your photography brings you as much enjoyment as it does me, although I don't seem to find as much time to indulge in it as much as I'd like.

Take care

Sue

Rick, I feel this way about books too. I wish this poem could have opened the new book.

Dear Dixie, lovely to see you here my friend, glad I could take you back to a time, thanks for the reply, take care.

Dear Ethel, your reply warms my heart, thank you for that, it is lovely to share with such friends, hugs to you Ethel and again thank you.

Dear Sue, the sharing of a hobbie has brought about a love that has been a miss for a while, we have now something to relate to and talk about, nice to find common ground and time to share, as I get older I relise more, we are not here forever and I don't want to say if only I had. Thanks again for the reply Sue, take care my friend and find time.

Dear Sandra, nice to see you here, thanks for the reply, always very much appreciated.

To you all again my friends, thank you, hope to see you all again soon, take care and be well.
