My love,
The clouds we have watched for days
As they built on afternoon skies
To only offer a passing shade
That seemed by Allah's will
To chase the wind as if a deer
Frightened from its repose
Have finally burst
And there are flowers on the banks
Of this slight stream.

Wipe the sleep from your eyes
That you might go and see with me
The blooms
That we might smell the fragrance
Which with the sun will fade

I will bring our robes
And we will lie among their petals
As we revel in this season
This glory of color
That blushes as you do
When my lips find the taste of you.

I have already seen the flush of sun

Hurry...

We'll be one on this day
when the camels are at rest
and we in mend of torn robe
and split tent

there is time to touch the earth
and gaze with awe on a sky
Allah himself must paint across
the curve above earth
for its beauty and changing hues
are those of love

Wrap me in your thoughts
that I might know how
the visions of sparrow
that flits in close bush
appears to your mind

Do you see the nest and strife of raising
unfledged young when you look
or do you see the freedom of its wings
that allow it to fly from here
this desert land to other places
leaving only it's shadow to cross
our lives?

In the darkness of night last
we found ourselves sharing joys of flesh
that made you moan and me sigh
as we released love from one
to another and let it swirl
with incense around us
that the scent of us
joined that of Myrrh

I would then have seen through your eyes
and felt what you did
that I might know better the ways
Allah intended me to please.

So today...
wrap me inside the cloth of you
and tell me the ways to touch
more than your skin.

And with last word read, I close my eyes and with soft sighs, I dream your words.  Oh Ron, this touched my heart more than you will ever know.

A most welcome oasis of poetry -- and a little different from most of I've read of yours...  Whether in the Middle East, or Deep South, there are things that humanity shares, and you have woven them well.  Good to read you once more.
