Silenced thoughts
cut me short
I’ve locked the door,
and thrown away the key.

and won’t come out.

The stone pigeons are dead-
I dropped them from the rooftop
and watched them crumble

no wrong was done
and yet-
caught within
these bars are iron.

Shut away
for my own good?
It’s for the ‘sane’ ones to decide
but
no one touches me here,
inside my head

Breath turns to stone,
and
you
don’t
know
what goes on inside

Let me sleep
I am awake-
where you can’t see me
I breathe
I smile
I whisper

All in vain

Stone won’t last forever
just ask the dust by the street-
once my conscious thoughts

(feeling a little dark today )

Liz, this is wonderful poetry!
When darkness gives birth to such gems, we might even welcome it.

Eric- err..whatever you say

Riley- thanks...thanks a lot bunny

Nightshade no..I'm not okay. I'm completely insane you've got to read my signature..and  don't worry. I'm just..I'm just..uptight

Margherita- darkness should always be welcomed. It is a pity that poetry so sad and beautifull should be locked away because it is disturbing. lol..I'm disturbing and they don't lock ME away...oh wait..

You write like an angel but from a place deep within that seems filled with darkness.

Hope all is well ... hugs, Marti

Hey, Riley picked my favorite lines, as well!

Liz, I'm thinking that with your talent, you can
write anything you feel like writing...whether
it's dark...happy...romantic...or any other emotion.
You put yourself into it and go with it. You are good, little friend....VERY  GOOD!!!!
Hugs and love, little lady
