This wandering path, at first
meandering slowly through a forest glen
into a wilderness of cactus studded
soil, occasional boulders dotting the dry
and arid land of time now past...gone.

Treacherous this walk among the cliffs
where countless serpents dwell in wait
of a swift and silent strike into the
vein.   Yet, though I am among peril
I walk willingly into the sunset before
the evening chills brings the shiver
of cold as well as uncertainty....

Soles of a soul stumbling against
the parched tongue, the cracked lips
of forgiveness.   Walking into the
shadow of doubt, once cool, now
but a mere whispering knell of
life’s bell, as time sifts the glass
of hours in wait....As life,
though struggling, goes on into
the glow of a red sky before
darkness brings sleep wrought
with dreams of what is yet to
be known....or seen.

Every day brings an unknown
each new sunrise brings a miracle...
we fear what we do not know
we rise in the face of it to conquer
humbly....

My thoughts are with you.

Ask and you shall receive.

You are in my thoughts, as well.  You did know that, didn't you?

Hello Barry

How lovely to read you again.  I have been absent for a while but since I've returned I've been looking for you.  As always, it is always such a pleasure to read your words and I hope all is well with you.

Very powerful write, dear Barry.

Soles of a soul stumbling against
the parched tongue, the cracked lips
of forgiveness.

As long as we are sustained by even a little dose of trust, even the unknown is less frightening.

Barry, you may not be posting as often as you once did, but each poem you write is absolutely brilliant. I literally was going to quote my favorite lines of this little masterpiece, but then I would have had to write out the whole poem. The depth of emotion that you are able to convey is palpable. Your words reach out and grab your reader's attention--and empathy. Wonderful writing from a very fine poe-et!

Barry~  Your writing is so fluid and it speaks to me clearly and so beautifully.  I wonder if you have an idea how your words effect me.  Thank you for this wonderful show of wisdom in words.
