With my darkling

0 posted 2003-08-06 08:04 PM

Listening to these
rhythmic tribal
beats

and slamming shots
heavy metal
feels like so much
history now

but after a few more
shots
it will feel like yesterday
and makes me want to
raise hell

even though it hurts my back now

And I can then
Raise my glass
and scream

I can never die
and I live for only
the thrill
of my youthful
invincability

but my little ones
make me
rein in the demon
and behave
just before the moment
I swing the pool cue
at your head

thank God tommorrow
I am not
young anymore

Jason . . .

feels like so much
history now

but after a few more
shots
it will feel like yesterday

God, exactly!  I know I know . . .
sometimes I wish soo much for it all and then when I do have that time I see myself wishing I were with my son . . .
Oh, how it beckons and yes, if not for the children, Oh I shudder to think what state I would be in . . . truly

God, you are cracking knuckles over there

I had to smile.

Put the cue where it belongs
and hug the kids...

they grow too fast...

and watch your every step.
