Disclaiming Personification – Blame the Muse

From whence
Does this touch
Of poetry emerge?

Perhaps from life, love,
Experience, or
Observation?

Research dissected
Dilution distilled
Incidents encountered,
Events examined,
Or by
Studied sequences ~

From whence does it stem?

Be not so quick
To suppose
‘twas My finger pricked
By red, red rose,

Imagine for a moment
That it was just a scene,
That words poetically phrased
Stood You there, ‘twixt and ‘tween

And you felt written words
Strike hard your hidden heart
And thought, “’tis true,
Or she could not impart
Such a feeling, so it must be so!”
Nay, ‘tis not that way, as you know…

For each poet here
Is fueled by fires ~
Imagination’s passions!
As they burn with desires…

So if you read a sad lament
Believe at first, what you feel
And think not from whom ‘twas meant
But observed only a veritable real.

This was a very forgiving write. Judgemental just took a hike! I loved this. What one person writes may be totally different than another and it shouldn't be deemed any less than the other. I loved this!!

It could have been a yellow rose, huh?

Loved this. Hugs.

oh I love this, just love this, this is exactly what PIP should be...and is, minus the poets.....rofg...ok, I am a poet so I should stop that talk...the first time I found out people were gossiping about 'who' my poems were written to, it just blew me away...I just write...why can't people just read? this poem should be a must read for every registered poet

So if you read a sad lament
Believe at first, what you feel
And think not from whom ‘twas meant
But observed only a veritable real.

You are right...yes, you are. So to bring wisdom, beauty, and thoughts to another...

This is absolutely the truth said so eloquently and perfectly.

Hugs,
Patricia

Love this Kari... the rhyme, the poetic phrasing and the intend of inspire....

I only wish I've had HALF the fun my muse has been accused of.

And besides... like KA always says....
"its fiction"

"How could I stand here with you and not be moved by you."
