I touched her wrinkled hand
Seen her bony face
Felt her embrace
She was scared and out of place
Eyesight was gone and mind withdrawn
Hearing at a loss
I seen she'd always wear her cross
I would hold her tight
To let her know everything is alright
She said I was cute
I made her smile in return
The next day I wen to see her
She didn't remember me, it's all a blur
That's okay
As long as I made her smile everyday

(About an elderly lady at a nursing home I use to take care of.  It's so easy to become attached.  I was from the start, and not working there anymore I always think of her, and how she use to smile)

Ohhhh this is such a tear jerker...Makes me want to cry. It's so hard to think back, and not feel the melancholy of these old memories. Sweet, but a little sad, too.  :'(

It's wonderful to know that there are still people in this world that care enought to take the time and touch someone's life that way.Beautifully done.

Religious is the last thing I am, but this makes me simply want to say to you:  "God bless you."
