Wake up tomorrow
toss the gravel from shoe
walk cleaner
further away
from where heel got caught

I don't miss you

Beside me sometimes
holding my hand
you werent aware
we were touching
anymore

It doesn't hurt like it used to

Without snap or click
you have passed by numb
circling overhead gone
waiting for word
to drop me from height

I know it'll hurt again.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

At first I thought you were going to say something about the "shake the dust off your feet" and never look back, but not so. I see now. It was about that repeat that never seems to find it's way out of town. It hangs around like that guest you hear about the host wishes would go home. I think anyway.

"I know it'll hurt again."

*sigh*  you'd think the knowledge would make it easier to handle, wouldn't you? I wish it were so...
