Ever Unsaid

I hold myself in firm hesitation
To not allow heartstrings to strike first chord
While I keep this verse of recitation
Solemnly silent in my mind’s discord

Though I wish for day of celebration
To sing melodious ode with proud voice
Alas, today brings no incarnation
For in a wistful hush, I not rejoice

‘Tis with poignant, painful lamentation
That I leave my heart’s orchestra not led
No symphony of emancipation
When “I love you” remains ever unsaid

Release me now thoughts of my lover’s hold
So, I may hum his tune of love untold

Smiling at you - a sad song, indeed...
but with the heart of a poet intertwined...

I've written  one or at least two of the "unsaid" poems...

felt this way many days

Patricia - I can tell that you would sing a beautiful tune, such as is this poem put to music...

Sheesh...This is like the 3rd, or 4th poem in a row that is a heartbreaker. I'm glad I went for those kleenex tissues. Wow...everybody is making me cry. :'(
