Like water from the willow
Weeping as it may seem
The floods that drenched and drowned the pillow
The one use to dream

If sadness is the end of pain
To quell and hide the fear
To wash from you and let it go
This fear that’s made you tear

If all you can do is think the unthinkable
And of things you can’t believe
Then run like wind on sandy dunes
And forget the ones you leave

You spent eternity on this quest
To dry your sorrows in the drought
This thirsty land of empty hands
With nothing to give out

You must go on and reach the unreachable
And gain the life that you once knew
Death is only the beginning
As you must start your life anew

Hello Gavin, and you echoed what I have always felt here...that death is not the end. These words you wrote are full of hope, not sadness, and I appreciate these thoughts so much!! It's well-thought out, and enjoyed reading you today...~S~

This is my first time in the poetry forum- and as I am a firm believer in fate, I think that I was meant to see this poem. Just reading it has made me feel able to cope with the recent loss of a loved one.
Thanks for these words of strength.

Welcome to Passions~

'run like wind on sandy dunes'

I found intriguing imagery with this line~

Enjoyed the read~
