Feeding change
too nauseous
for afterthought

Now
you only exist
in fine print

Light
are the trivialities
I wear on my sleeve
cuff link
to keeping you
from returning
to bold

How did I
straighten the wave
of my hair?

Don't want to
wash
for fear of return

I miss it
and wonder why I do

The numb confuses
though
it's what I wanted

Facing new eyes

ones I knew

but different

standing

their

ground

.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

Subjectively, I sense an undercurrent of personal allusions woven throughout this piece which serves well to illustrate "human frailty"...

"cuff link
