.
All IN A DAYS WORK
Through the churchyard
dank and sopping,
we lead the mourners
as we carry the coffin.

Our shoulders sag,
our knees are buckling,
if it wasn't so serious
we all would
be chuckling.

Never the less
our steps are brave
and with a bit of luck
we'll find the right grave.

"Ashes to ashes"
is the vicars cry,
warning us all
that the end is nigh.

A last goodbye.
A final farewell
and they all thank God
that it wasn't one of them.

Maggie, I do believe
you have a wry sense
of humor...and it looks
good on you!  I'm still chuckling...
