Today’s dust paints her,
Red clay rouge on her pale cheeks,
One eyes of sky blue
Bloodied by sleepless long weeks
Of constant roaming
Never knowing what she seeks
Still looking all day.
Her clothes dirty and tattered
Her mind confused and battered.

A rumble is heard,
Not her own stomach this time,
But far off somewhere
Echoing haze in her mind
An old memory,
A thought she can not still find,
It speaks in the breeze
That gathers all the faster,
Bearing trash quickly passed her.

There on the corner
She leans heavy on her cart
All her possessions,
Treasures she won’t let depart,
Something is coming
Somehow she knows soon will start,
And the sky flashes;
To find shelter she does know,
But has nowhere else to go.

Gloom

...and there, but for the
grace of God,
go I.

Well done, Sir

How very sad...
Well done Gloom.

~Soft smiles, Nancy~
